1 MONTH BEFORE MY EXAM, IT WAS AUGUST, I AM AWARE THAT I NEED TO TAKE IT SINCE MY AUNT TOLD ME, BUT GIVEN THAT I AM NOT YET THAT INTERESTED TO TAKE THE EXAM, I DO NOT REVIEW AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY BUT INSTEAD BROWSED MY INTERNET, FACEBOOK, AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MONTH THERE I STARTED TO SEARCH ABOUT THE EXAM… THERE’S A LOT OF INSTRUCTIONS AND GUIDELINES UPLOADED BUT WHEN I STARTED TO REGISTER AND FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS, THERE I FOUND THAT THE COUNCIL REVISED THEIR POLICY AND ADDED THE ELIGIBILITY NUMBER POLICY BEFORE YOU CAN TAKE THE EXAM… AND THAT’S MADE ME PANICK… SO BECAUSE OF THIS, I BECAME VERY STRESS IN APPLYING THE EXAM… HOOH…

SO WHAT’S ABOUT THE ELIGIBILITY NUMBER? THE ELIGIBILITY NUMBER IS THE 10-DIGIT NUMBER PROVIDED BY THE SAUDI COUNCIL SO THAT YOU CAN BE ELIGIBLE TO TAKE THE EXAM… YOU NEED TO REGISTER IN THE MUMARIS E-SYTEM SO THAT YOU CAN REQUEST FOR IT… LEGAL DOCUMENTS WHERE ASK TO BE UPLOADED, AND AS FAR AS I COULD REMEMBER INCLUDING WITH THIS ARE:

SCANNED COLLEGE DIPLOMA
SCANNED TOR BOTH ACADEMIC AND CLINICAL
SCANNED PASSPORT
SCANNED PRC BOARD CERTIFICATE AND LICENSE
SCANNED CERTIFICATE OF EMPLOYMENT
PASSPORT SIZED PICTURE IN WHITE BACK GROUND (JPEG FORMAT <2MB)

AFTER REVIEWING ALL YOUR DATA, THE COUNCIL WILL BE THE ONE TO DECIDE IF YOU’RE GOING TO TAKE THE NURSE TECHNICIAN OR NURSE SPECIALIST. THIS WILL BE BASED ON YOUR PROVIDED DOCUMENTS… IN MY CASE THEY GIVE ME THE NURSE SPECIALIST CATEGORY THAT MADE ME SO ANXIOUS SINCE I READ IN THE OTHER BLOG THAT IT WAS MORE DIFFICULT THAN THE NURSE TECHNICIAN. IN THE EMAIL SENT TO ME MY QUALIFICATION WAS THE BACHELOR DEGREE OF NURSING, SO I THINK IF YOU’RE A GRADUATE OF BSN, YOU WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS NURSE SPECIALIST, BUT SOME SITE SAYS THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE 3 YEARS EXPERIENCE BY WHICH I ALSO HAVE.

The practitioner can create only one e-Account, creation of another account is prohibited.

THE NUMBER WAS SENT TO ME IN E-MAIL AND IN MY MOBILE NUMBER. TWO NUMBERS WERE SENT TO ME, ONE IS THE ELIGIBILITY NUMBER/ CODE THAT YOU WILL USE TO REGISTER FOR THE EXAM, AND THE SECOND WAS THE VERIFICATION CODE THAT YOU WILL USE FOR THE DATA FLOW. Step 1: Select your program

Select Academic, Professional Licensure & Certification, Government, and Corporate Programs

In the drop down box, select Saudi Licensing Examination.

*if you select other program you will received a message that your eligibility number does not exist. make sure you select the saudi licensing examination.

Step 2: Select your region

You can choose Philippines as your country. (Of course, if you are here in the Philippines but if you’re not, select your own country)

Then click next…Select schedule an appointment AND what you need is to click next and accept the terms and condition because if you do not, you will not be able to register.

After that step, there you will be asked for your eligibility number… so enter the code provided by the council and the first 4-letter of your surname. Just follow the next steps.

After that you’re going to select your preferred date of the exam and time… you can select the testing area, if you’ll take the exam in Makati, located in the Ateneo Professional School, Salcedo Village, Makati, there were two testing centers provided, select the one that suited in your availability…

If you decide to take in makati area, please enter this in the address : salcedo village, makati, 1227 and two testing center will be provided.

*For Manila the schedule of exam is from Tuesday to Friday and for Cebu it is Monday to Thursday.

In my case I selected the THE MAKATI SITE, 8479 because it suit with mine. And my scheduled date was September 23, 2014, 10 AM, which was one week to go (actually there’s a lot of vacant dates for that testing center, but since I asked Lord FOR THE PERFECT DAY TO TAKE THE EXAM, I chose this date, PRAYER IS A KEY). After selecting your schedule, you need to pay for it through credit card… MASTER CARD, VISA and America Express. You need to pay US$90.

Under the Payment Information. Type the Card Number, the Security Code (I used the Master Card of my aunt and the security code is placed at the back of the card alongside the signature.. You will type the last 3-digit code. Don’t you worry, if you got no idea on this there is a user friendly HELP button there that will show a figure, i.e., credit card, where you can spot the required digits). Type in the Name (the owner of the card) and the Expiration Date of the card. Review the information and click Next.

After that you will be asked to review the entered information once again and you will click Complete Registration.

An appointment Verification will appear and you need to print that, and also your receipt, because it will be asked by the guard in the center before allowing you to ENTER. if you coudln't print it right away you can save it in your pc as pdf file. Please read their policy regarding the rescheduling and cancellation of the application.

EXAMINATION DAY

SINCE I AM FROM BATANGAS CITY, I CHOSE TO CHECKED-IN in A HOTEL NEAR THE CENTER SO THAT I WILL NOT BE LATE ON THE EXAM. IF YOU ALSO WANT TO, I STAYED IN MAZ INTERNATIONAL INN, I CHOSE THIS BECAUSE IT WAS AFFORDABLE. THERE’S A LOT OF HOTEL ON THAT SITE BUT MOST OF THEM WERE LUXURY HOTEL. BY THE WAY, THE HOTEL I STAYED IN WAS VERY COMFORTABLE AND BREAKFAST WAS ALSO OKAY. :)

FROM MY HOTEL I JUST WALKED BUT IT WAS A BIT FAR BUT I GUESS IT'S BETTER TO WALK THAN TO GET ON A TAXI BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC. i LEFT THE HOTEL EXACTLY 8AM AND ARRIVED IN THE TESTING SITE BY 8:20AM, YES, i WALKED SLOW BECAUSE I DON’T WANT TO BE TIRED. ;P PLEASE DON’T WEAR LONG SLEEVES BECAUSE IT WAS HOT… HAHA… I WORE ONE AND THAT MADE ME EXHAUSTED ;) don’t WORRY ABOUT THE TEMPERATURE IN THE CENTER BECAUSE it WAS NOT COLD, JUST A TEMPERATURE appropriate FOR THE TEST TAKERS. I THOUGHT IT WILL BE COLD THAT’S WHY I USED TO WEAR LONG SLEEVES.

SINCE I ARRIVEd VERY EARLY FOR MY SCHEDULE, AFTER LOGGING IN THE BOOK, THE GUARD LET ME WAIT IN THE WAITING AREA, BUT AFTER 5 MINUTES, HE CALLED ME AND THE OTHER TEST TAKER… HE ASKED FOR my PRC ID, AND THE APPOINTMENT OF CONFIRMATION LETTER SENT TO me. AFTER THAT i was already ALLOWED TO GO IN THE TESTING UNIT IT SELF. IT WAS LOCATED AT THE 2ND FLOOR, there's a SIGN PROMETRIC IN THE DOOR.

AND HERE IT GOES, THE TIME I WAS IN THE FRONT OF THE DOOR, I STARTED TO BE NERVOUS… SO BEFORE ENTERING I PRAYED… (I AM NOT AWARE THAT THEY HAVE THE PRAYING ROOM, DO PRAY!)

Once you enter the room someone will ask you to sign first, and ask for your passport, yes…bring your passport and prc id because they were so strict in identifcation system. if your picture in the license fade out, please provide your passport or any government id that had you picture, but to be safe, just bring your passport.

After that, you will be given a key for your locker, all your items will be put inside, including the jewelry or any metal you wear. talking with the other examinees were not allowed… so zip your mouth… ;)

Read the policy given to you, and after that you will be courted toward the testing unit… there you will be asked to empty all your pocket, as in all your pocket in front of them. after that you’ll be asked to validate the information on their data based. since am a bit nervous that time, i stayed there for 30 minutes because my index finger mark was not recognized… a lot of attempt was done… ;P after that, you will be assiSted to your assigned computer… and there, your battle begins… ;)

I started my exam by 9am instead of my scheduled time, 10am, so please be sure to come one hour before your scheduled time because they were so strict for those who were late, and besides, they might also give ahead of your schedule. it's better to be safe ;)

THE EXAM IT SELF

If you will read some blogs regarding the exam, many of them claimed that it was easier than nclex, but on my opinion, it was really patterned to nclex. so the level of difficulty was just the same. basic topic was THE focus in the exam, but the question itself was tricky so you need to improve your decision making skills and youR test taking strategIES… (what i am afraid of during the exam was that i might over rationalized the question, so be careful) in my case, I take a nurse specialist, my exam was focus in operative nursing, pre-, intra-, and post-, i advised to stay focus on the interventions and implementation because most of the item was about it. study every disease process,i think it’s the key… in my exam it focuses on cardiac, respiratory and gi sytems… basic computation was included, don’t panick with it, some of my questions were given questions because there were clues in the question itself… lucky for me… ;) i am afraid of normal values but in my exam, it was given… :) (i really thank god for it) but the whole exam, i found it difficult… you can marked your unsure items and reviewed it, i think i only have 14 unmarked items, :’( which almost made me cry… please take the chance to review your answers because it all count… ;)

I am not sure if there’s a different on the level of difficulty of the exam between nurse technician and nurse specialist, some site says there was. by the way, they have a pool of questions so different examinees get different set of questions. it's in your luck if you get an easy set of question or the difficult one. nevertheless, whatever category you belong, you need to study and focus with the exam. do pray, it helps a lot… during my week long preparation for the exam, i really devoted my self in going to church and asking His divine assistance, and by His gracious name, i passed the exam for nurse specialist. :) THank you Lord… the passing rate for nurse technician was 45% and for nurse specialist, 50%... I will not mention mine here but it was very near the borderline ;)

The result will appear right after you click end exam button after you finished the 70 items… if you pass, raise your hands so that they will assist you and give YOUR certificate of passing… You will get off the exam booths room, and he will print your exam results and place a dry seal and his signature over the dry seal. this was valid for 3-years.

Although i do not met my desired rate, i am still thankful to pass it… since i really found it difficult… some of my co test-taker who take the nurse technician did not make it… (during that time we are five and i am the only one who took the nurse specialist that’s why i became more anxious because it pop-up to my mind that the exam for nurse specialist was difficult) so future test taker… study and stay focus!

Maybe if i study well, and focus (Instead of spending my time in browsing youtube,and facebook..hehe, because i always say to myself that i need to be relax…haha… and that’s the result, i become anxious on the day of the exam… ;) hehe) i can get a better rating… ;)

Just sign up and follow the direction… you will be requested to upload documents: COE, DIPLOMA, PRC LICENSE AND BOARD CERTIFICATE, and PASSPORT, I can’t remember what more. Just remember to provide a clear copy of all your documents so that it will not be rejected. You will be asked to scan a letter of authorization with your sign… then after that was you will pay for it… I forgot the exact amount but it was more than 300 SR. Of course it will be through credit card, VISA and MasterCard... After the payment, a receipt will be sent to your email, you need to print it. It was stated that verification takes 30 or more working days… so always check your email for updates.
